I’m tired of seeing “This web application is entirely built without code on Bubble” on the console while debugging the code I’m writing as a plugin for the app I’m building which is bloated with plugins I’ve created.
I feel that this statement involves lying and exploiting the efforts of plugin builders to promote the platform.
Yeah, there’s code.
Yeah, bubble employees wrote code.
Yeah, plugin builders wrote code.
Yeah, the builder of the app even wrote code when they did conditionals and other things - - it’s still “code”.
But it’s as “no-code” as possible. Most people would agree you can “build without code”. Kinda similar to how “new” cars still are driven by the manufacturer, and even by the dealer sometimes more than you’d like but still called “new”.
My objection is about misleading people into believing that all apps that are built using bubble, the developers did not write lines of code for them.
It is understood that the code is always present behind the scenes, but when I build my application without writing those lines of code, then you can say “This web application is entirely built without code on Bubble”, but when I contribute a significant amount of those lines of code, it is fraudulent to say that.
The goal here is to build a site without code, even though code is always present behind the scenes. A site cannot be built without code, but the important thing is to build it without writing the code yourself.
Man this is almost as bad as my “Why is there a contributors sections on the forum?” forum post.
It doesn’t matter.
Pay for your apps and you can turn it off.
You can disable it in the app settings, stop whining
