Override Default Tab Order

With longer forms, part of a good UX is the ability to tab through the fields so as to speed up the data entry.

Unfortunately, the automated tabbing often does not follow a logical sequence.

So, it would be nice to be able to override this with a fixed tab sequence (or calculated sequence) by assigning the field an order number.

Since new fields may be added later, perhaps having an open assignment field (numeric only input) so the developer might add a sequence by tens (i.e. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60). Then if a field is added between say 30 and 40, they could assign it number 35.

This could also work with decimals. 1,2,3,4,5… add 3.5 to be tab order between 3 and 4.

Just a thought…

It’s also a WCAG requirement…

Is there a workaround here?
