Price For Bubble Developer Maintenance

Hello, I am building the financials for my bubble app and need some help. I am creating a social network and I am building a small team of 1-3 bubble developers to help with app maintenance and updates. It would be 15-25 hours per week.

Is anyone willing to help me figure out what a competitive wage/salary would be? What are some key questions I need to answer in order to figure this out

Avoid building a team for an early stage app if at all possible. 3x junior developers <<< 1x senior developer.

For that senior developer, offer $80-$120/hr (they’ll get things done way faster and better than a team of junior devs that are stepping on each other’s toes).

From all of the large agency apps I’ve audited, the worst ones all have larger teams of junior developers working on them, and the best generally have one (or rarely two) experienced devs working on them.

Though, I can think of one exception which is a B2B SaaS that had a team of 3 very good in house devs. Kicked myself that I couldn’t hire them myself…

The next thing to work out is how many hours it takes. Hours is irrelevant - senior dev can take an hour to do what it takes a junior dev to do in 5. If you give some example features / more details about your app then we can probably roughly approximate how much it would cost (assuming it’s with a decently experienced developer that builds securely and efficiently).

Better to spend the money on one developer than on three. Put the money into one and you will be better off for sure.

The app will function similarly to Linkedin but will have a much heavier focus on media uploading and showcasing. This, I assume, would require the apps data structure to be built in a very efficient way to reduce unnecessary costs.

You are exactly right when it comes to bringing on a senior developer over jr developers. I am looking for one currently as a CTO and offering equity but in the event that that does not work out, the show must go on! So this small team is my backup option and I am exploring the overall expenses

What according to you is a senior? A person with more than 3 years can call himself senior but there are people who may not have that much time building in bubble but can deliver far better results,
I think saying senior will deliver more than a junior x3 is only agencies marketing lines.

If you can find decent 3 devs who may not fall in category of senior by years of experience, will ofcourse be far better than a so called senior one. And it’s always better to have a team than a single individual.

Sorry, I should be clearer - I generally call a senior dev by talent, not by experience. You can find ones that have a natural talent who have 6 months-1 year of experience - others will need 2-3 years experience to get there (or may never get there at all).

And I know what the results of both approaches are because I audit them every day. One very competent developer almost always beats out a team of less talented developers. And those devs will start at $60-80/hr.
