Privacy Rules Checker - Issues Rating Data Types

I’m really struggling to make sense of and get meaningful results out of the privacy checker, especially trying to find where to rate my data types:

It appears that the way to do this is to tick or untick fields in the under test settings in the issues explorer, but this does not “rate” the data type, it just informs the checker whether to check that field or not.

Running the privacy rules checker is fundamentally annoying, because it keeps telling me I have data leaks with data that is designed to be public - i.e. blog articles:

Any assistance to get this thing to provide meaningful information would be great!

Hey! Sorry the documentation is inaccurate. That’s a remanent of our old system which has since been redesigned. Will adjust.

If you mark in settings which pages and data types should be “tested” or not, that tests whether they are leaking data in the Issues Explorer. I see you checked Article as wanting to test, that means if it’s leaking / public, you’ll get a data leak issue after running an scan. But you may want to uncheck that since you want it to be public and it would not be considered a data leak.

The privacy rules checker only tests privacy rules and doesn’t take into account your “ratings.” It probably should, but it was made to provide a quick scan for people who didn’t have access to the security dashboard and rating system. Will make that clearer copy in the dashboard and docs. Thanks for flagging!
