PuKool: A small search engine I made, that's powered by the Bing Web Search API

Hiya!

I’ve made a small search engine, after finding out how to use the API Connector plugin (which is REALLY useful). It basically pulls search results from Bing, with the Bing Web Search API on RapidAPI. I thought the domain PuKool was already taken, it wasn’t when I checked (oops). (It’s called PuKool because if you reverse it it says “LookUp”)

It’s far from done, and this is mainly just a test, but feel free to tell me what you think!

Well done. I like the simple clean design although I would prefer if the dark background was a little bit more darker

I think I can add 3 modes, just like in Twitter:

  • Light (White)
  • Dark (Grey)
  • Darkest (Black)
    Thanks for the feedback!

Alright! I updated the site and added Ultra-Darkmode and Lightmode. If I should make any changes, please let me know.

It looks amazing man!

Thank you! Currently, I’m trying to create an image search, also based on Bing.

Update:

  • Bing Images (Images tab)
  • DuckDuckGo Instant Answers API (Information box, only on desktop)

Few UI suggestions:

  • make the URLs under each result smaller font
  • Add another line or two of preview text
  • pull list of results a bit (100px or so) towards the cent of the page on wider screens
  • i see just one “data box” on the far right of the results page, maybe add three of them in a list?
