Range- use case

Does anyone use fields of range type? I am curious to learn the use case as I’ve been building for more than 6 months and never understood the concept or the use cases.

Why would someone not use two different fields instead?

I think it’s for convenience and convention. It’s only 1 database field. Allows you to not manage 2 lists of data leading to less Errors if you reference that list in different locations. Easier to keep track of 1 list, right?
