Read text from text element

Sounds simple, but I want to use the text showing in a text element and can’t. I want to reference the text (e.g. conditional formatting for the element if the text is, say, “Green”) also I want to use the text as an input if a user clicks on the text (e.g. create a workflow that changes a database item to the value of the text).

Driving me potty, tried replacing the text with an input but no ‘clickable’ workflow there. Sounds so simple, have run against it many times, have had to do some pretty inefficient workarounds.

Any ideas much appreciated!

Hi, stevoster.

In this case, I use a hidden element “input”, or a custom state to show the value of a text. Then, all workflows or conditionals that you put on the text, will reference the hidden input relative to it.
