Recently, a recruiter asked to build a full feature app with access to the backend without compensation. Is this normal?
No
If a task is more than an hour (maybe two if they’re pushing it), expect comp at your expected hourly rate. If not, they’re not a company you’ll want to work for. I know Airdev pays applicants fairly for their time, for example.
