I have a Repeating Group on my search page with Type of content set to Event. When I click on the Data source field and select ‘Do a search for’, the popup opens but returns ‘No results found’ when I search for Event. I cannot select Event as the data type for my search. Privacy rules for Event are set to Publicly visible. I have data in the database. How do I fix this?

A couple thoughts based on what you described.
When you click “Do a search for” and Bubble shows “No results found,” I don’t think that’s actually telling you your database is empty. At that stage Bubble is usually asking which data type you want to search, so if nothing is showing up there, I’d start wondering whether there’s a type mismatch somewhere.
Since your repeating group’s Type of content is already set to Event, I’d expect Bubble to automatically offer “Do a search for Events.” If it isn’t, that feels like an important clue.
Another thing that stood out is that you’re using the new Repeating Group beta element. I haven’t used it enough to know all of its quirks, but I’d definitely try the same setup with a classic Repeating Group just as a test.
If the exact same search works in a classic RG, then I’d be a lot more suspicious of the beta element than your actual configuration.
A few other things I’d double-check:
- Make sure the repeating group’s Type of content and the search data type are the same.
- Even though you’ve set privacy to Everyone, check whether “Find this in searches” is enabled. I’ve seen situations where data was visible but still not searchable because that permission wasn’t turned on.
- Try a completely unconstrained search for Events just to confirm Bubble can see the data at all.
The beta RG is the thing that jumps out at me the most though. If a classic Repeating Group works without any issues, I’d probably consider it a beta-element bug or limitation.
What happens when you try the same thing with a regular Repeating Group?
