Repeating Group Scrolling Position Detector - New Plugin from Zeroqode

Hey Bubblers,
we have published a new plugin

Detect the current scrolling position of the repeating group. Use case: set a custom state to show only 10 items in your repeating group, once the scrolling positing approaches the end of the repeating group, change the custom state to show 20 items etc. This makes loading of repeating group much faster and smoother.

Here is the plugin page: https://bubble.io/plugin/detect-scroll-position-for-rg-1520854429852x678052985328894000

And here is a demo page: http://plugintests.bubbleapps.io/scrolling_position

Hi there @levon, quite interested in this. Any chance you can post a screenshot of the editor, showing the settings that are available for the plugin?

Thanks!

Hey Kelvin,
in fact the settings don’t have much - only the ID of the repeating group scrolling position of which should be tracked. See it below

and these are the 2 states that the plugin returns

it’s quite simple as you can see

Hi, looked at the demo page, doesn’t seem to be working properly… I seen only 5 images out of the 16 in the DB.

I’m interested in this, please let me know.

Cheers!

@aissa
thanks for reporting this bug, we have fixed the demo page and everything is working properly. please check here http://zeroqode-demo-05.bubbleapps.io/scrolling_position

Hi @levon ,

Does the scroll detect still function when both the scroll detect and repeating group are inside a floating group?

Hi Tim, why don’t you give it a try?

Yes I have but to no success. Was hoping it was me.

we’ll check this out to see if we can fix it

Legend! Thanks mate you guy always on it.

Thanks for making this, much needed addition for repeating groups.

Thanks a lot for the feeback!

The plugin only works when the RG is in full list mode. I want it to work in vertical scroll. Any chance you guys could make it happen? @levon

it’s done so because in vertical scroll the number of items in the repeating group would not be defined and the plugin wouldn’t be able to calculate the scrolling position correctly

I have a messaging system that uses vertical scrolling. Is there no way to use the plugin if I keep it as vertical scrolling then?

as I explained I don’t think it’s technically possible, or would need to have a super complex calculation algorithm which would confuse everyone

Just for info, here is another plugin Scrollspy.
It provides not the percentage but the index of the current element on the screen and the element itself
