Repeating list of things to do

I don’t know if this is the right sub category but…

I have a repeating list, with tasks that need to be completed.

I have a “done” button, with a workflow of hide button when pressed.

The problem with this is when the page is refreshed the button is there again. I would like to hide it for a certain amount of time, because i don’t want to delete the data for the task from the database. But I am sure there is a better way to do it.

What i wanted to do at first was delete that cell, not the entire list. I see a way to delete the list, but i just want to remove that cell, but i want that deletion to only be temporary

Can anyone help with this? I would be happy with just hiding the button for a certain amount of time but i am open to other ideas.

the button needs to run a make changes to a thing workflow that updates a task completed check box. if it works correctly then the item will hide itself as long as the search is constrained to tasks where task completed checkbox is not yes
