Search - Improve WU Consumption?

Hi There !

About 40% of our WU consumption comes from search activities (from a certain APP). I’m looking for advice on reducing this and improving performance. Currently, I use a dropdown to filter, but it takes about 6 seconds for the new search to be executed (when I choose another option from this dropdown - very annoying to wait for it…).

Do you have any tips or strategies, both to reduce WU consumption, to improve the speed of this search?

It might take away from UX but perhaps adding a button to click to confirm filter choices such as ‘set filters’ that will only then perform the search, since I imagine a large part of the WU comes from users changing their dropdown choice frequently.

I can not give any advice beyond that as the data structure is not known, but there may be ways to decrease the size of the data structure but that depends on the data structure and the use case of the page/feature.

Is advisibe to do the search, put in a state (List type) and then filter by dropdown? Don’t think it gonna work…

You are right, the frequency of changing this dropdown is the main concern, but that’s part of the problem itself…

Tks !

The best path seems to be the simplest one.

  • Perform a search by RG, it’s as simple as that;
  • Filtering later significantly worsens WU consumption;
  • Using the “hidden RG” technique greatly increases consumption.
