Update: of course bubble has A privacy policy like any serious company would, and of course most people don’t read through an existing privacy policy like normal people with more important things to do. but the question was whether bubble has an AI privacy policy? (which i’d hoped was hiding somewhere in plain sight)

so the answers -interestingly- run the gammut: this question is

(il)literally irrelevant (you’re right @johnny - irrelevance is my superpower ;- ) )
clearly clueless (yup @chris.williamson1996 - have a google allergy ! )
intentionally ignored (thanks for your insights @boston85719)
or bubble’s diminished disclosure is defensible because everyone’s doing it anyway (probably true @Tanvi2, but would still be nice to know what details bubble AI sees when being trained on our apps and -more importantly- whether we have a choice in the matter…)

and since we’re on the topic: is AI used in the forum @fede.bubble, and if so, how exactly?

when my previous question was deleted (Am i missing something or does Bubble AI really NOT have a privacy policy…?!?), was that done by you, a human, or did an AI do that while you were enjoying a pina colada on the beach : ) (not caustic, just curious)…?

AI is a fact of life and has been unleashed on humanity without human-AI alignment (well, arguably humans have never been aligned, so human-AI alignment is a modern day holy grail). in any case, it would be really nice to have a little more transparency wrt specific bubble AI permissions granted when using/not using the AI feature

I’m strongly leaning toward the idea they do use our apps as their training data. I asked the question a while back and it was ignored, so the assumption there is the answer is not one people would like to hear.

They have full right to train their AI on our apps, when training drag and drop builders you have to give it your builders JSON structures which isn’t compatible with any other builder because it’s proprietary… it’s actually at its core what makes bubble even work.

They kinda have full right to train their model on their builders JSON regardless of if it was user created or not bc it’s all proprietary and the privacy policy doesn’t explicitly state otherwise.

Also…why would you not want them training the model using customer builder JSON?…its not like they are using your app user data…

They may have the legal right… but lets consider the issue outside the legal system (anyways, bubble is a platform used around the world. What’s legal in the USA is very often illegal in the EU, especially when it comes to digital privacy - for good reason)

I do understand part of @kunigunda 's concern. It should be explicitly stated whether or not if they retain the right and if they actually do or do not train their AI systems using bubble developer data (I am not excusing @kunigunda 's unprofessional and downright rude behavior on this forum i.e salty). A curious user shouldn’t have to crawl through a privacy policy concerning what has been a hot topic since 2022.

I understand your point. For a lot of people, this doesn’t concern them. Its like how for many people, they don’t mind if private companies or government agencies have access to their data from their devices, regardless how that data is used or isn’t used. For some people, it does matter and probably does matter for certain enterprise or government clients who might think about developing something with Bubble.

My personal view is that if a company is going to use my work and my skill, especially something that I pay for, to improve their AI technology I should at least be aware of that - even if it benefits the platform I pay for in the long run. There should be full transparency about this kind of stuff. AI tools are great don’t get me wrong, but there’s a ton of ethical issues which should not and won’t be ignored in many parts of the world.

Anyways, @kunigunda is really salty & bitter, and should take a break from the bubble forums after offering a few apologies. I think we can all get behind that.

From a technical standpoint, Bubble has no need to train it on Bubble apps.

What good would it to do train their AI on 95% of Bubble apps which aren’t well built?

The 5% of well built apps you are referring to amounts to thousands of apps and that is more than enough to train the Bubble AI on a private alpha or even public beta version of the AI product which will kick on to learn on its own based on new generations and edits.
