Stripe workflow action returns before user finishes entering credit card information

I’m having a weird issue with the Stripe plugin from Bubble.

I’m using the Stripe plugin action “Subscribe the user to”.

The issue is the Stripe plugin “finishes” while the credit card information is being entered, and as a result, the credit card transaction never succeeds.

For the record I’m using the Stripe test number of 4242 4242 4242 4242 as the application is still being developed.

Has anyone seen this?

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Are you talking about when subscribing a user to a subscription that anything in the workflow after that step doesn’t finish?

I think you have to check, on page load, if the user is subscribed. Then finish your workflow.

You can put a text element on the screen and check to be sure it actually worked.

Current User’s Stripe Subscription = ?

If it says “active” then you know it worked.

While it’s true that nothing in the workflow happens after the Stripe step fails, what I’m talking about is the way the stripe test is failing.

Thanks for the video, that helps a lot. It does look like there is some kind of error going on with the plugin possibly. Are you using the Bubble plugin? I wonder if the same thing happens when you upgrade the plugin to v3.

The only plugin version I see is:

So it appears I’m running 3.2.

Can you please clarify what you mean by “upgrade the plugin to v3”?

It’s in the plugin settings. Check it out. Maybe v3 fixes the issue.

It’s not a different plugin. It’s the same plugin. It is a little hard to find.

I thought you meant plugin V3, not Checkout V3. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as Checkout V2 vs Checkout V3.

I’ve made the change. Now I’ll test it.

V3 or the win! Sort of.

Now I get a weird “Permission Denied” diaglog box after the payment is successfully entered, but when I ignored it and selected OK, everything processed as I expected it to.

I’ll Google for that to see what it means later.

You are welcome! Glad it helped. v3 is the better way to go anyways. It’s compliant to other countries and looks a lot nicer.
