Switch from Sandbox to AWS SES Production

Hello everyone,

I recently left sendgrid for several reasons and I am approaching AWS SES. I have to say that for now everything is going great.

The only doubt, I’m trying to move from the sandbox to production, but yesterday they denied it to me because according to their guidelines I could compromise the stability of other users.

Now I’m clearly trying again (I don’t send marketing emails, but it’s my CRM that sends informative emails to our agents, they are internal emails so no spam, no missed delivery).

Did anyone do it and can give me some advice? The main obstacle is 200 emails a day..

I leave the post active because maybe it can be useful to someone in the future. I requested the ride too early. AWS has response times around one business day for this. I think we refused in the first instance because they didn’t have enough data to reason. I resumed the request the next day, asking for the reasons for the refusal and stressing that in the meantime I had sent about 200 emails, so they could appreciate their nature and the fact that they are of quality as in their guidelines. They accepted.

So based on this experience, stay a few days in the sandbox and send some emails. Obviously avoid spam or type of email that is not allowed by AWS.

Then ask for the transition to production.
