Hi All,
This is really weird. I uploaded a file and stored the file and filename to a datatype. However, the content of the resume and the name of the resume doesn’t match. It looks like the resume was still using the previous uploaded resume as if it’s being cached. The resume name captures the newly uploaded filename. Do you know why and how to resolve this issue? Thank you!

Hi @reneesyliu!
Does this happen in every upload test, with multiple files? Or is it only in this case? Have you tried updating or clearing your browser cache? I ask because something strange could happen between the browser, Bubble, and many variables. It’s best to test before assuming it’s a bug, right? Could you put another uploader element on a new page and test it? Maybe there’s something wrong with the element? Let me know. Thanks.
Hi @krenkel Thank you! I just cleared the cookie and cache but the issue remains. It now happens every time I upload the new file. I am actually not sure why it is using the old file. I have cleared the table that was storing the old file.

And this happens for the same file, could it be that the file size is too big? These are just ideas that occur to me, before opening a ticket with Bubble support for them to evaluate. Who knows, maybe we will discover this error. If you want to send this document so I can do an upload test here, maybe I can test it, if you allow it, I am available. Thank you.
Thank you very much! It is just a resume. Where can I send it to you? Thank you! It didn’t happen before I was playing with my app for a couple hours and then it just keeps behaving like such. I am struggling to debugging the issue.

Look @reneesyliu, I believe we have discovered, the file was locked. I send the print of it locked, where it goes to the bubble storage but not to your application. Now in the second print it goes to your application immediately as soon as this file is unlocked, just click unlock.

wow, how did you know it was locked and how did it happen? Where can I unlock it? How can I make sure this isn’t happening again? Thank you!

So @reneesyliu, this may happen again, but it may never happen again. I believe there was some error, perhaps even when sending the PDF file, or when saving it. By default, files coming from other machines will be blocked. However, in this specific case, unblocking it solved the problem. However, there are some variables. The quickest way would be for the person who generated the PDF to generate it again and test it. I believe it will not happen again, otherwise we would be in a very bad situation, because I believe there are many places where they receive PDF documents with this blocked warning. But yes, technology can always surprise us, right? But since it was a special case, we solved it together, and so sharing strengthens the situation. Thank you for that. If you have any questions, let us know. If we can help, we are at your disposal. Krenkel
Thank you so much! Can you please tell me how to unlock it? From Bubble or from my own pdf? I don’t see any unlock button. Thanks!

Of course, you go with the right mouse button on the desired file, and choose properties, there in that area, there will be the option to unlock, I’ll send you the print, for example, this in the Windows operating system.
Thanks. I checked and none of the files is locked on my local laptop.

Okay, so convert this PDF using the Apple Office package. I believe you have an Apple (Mac). With this document converted to Word, you can save this document with a new name from your computer and then test it again. If not, it’s some other unidentified error. If you don’t have this Office package, I believe that Linux LibraryOffice has this converter or another site that does this conversion. You can even copy and paste it directly into a Word document for this test and then save it as a PDF. You could test this. If you have any questions, let me know. It has to work somehow. ; )

But the end users are going to upload a pdf without converting them? Would they see the same error?
I just uploaded a text file. The problem remains the same. The old file is being cached somehow. Btw, the entire workflow is using the uploaded file and sen it to an API. So I am guessing it could be the case that the API is using the cache…

Okay @reneesyliu, I believe that is why many recruiting companies ask people to enter data in pre-determined fields, without having to send the resume file as an attachment. But yes, there must be an explanation for why your API generates this error. Have you tried creating a new page without an API and using an upload and uploading a file to see if it works? If it works, it must be because there is some particularity to the API you are using. Let me know. Thanks.
