"This Input's Value" MISSING

Checking to see if anyone else is noticing this bug.

When using an input and starting a workflow when the value is changed, I can no longer find the option “This Input’s Value”

The work around is to manually type in the input’s name, but it was very convenient to use “This Input’s Value”.

Is this missing for anyone else?

I am not seeing it, either, and I have no idea when it went away. At first I thought it might be related to the new expression composer because, well, why not? So, I turned the composer off, but that didn’t do anything. I am now wondering if it disappeared when this feature became the default experience, but again, I have no idea. It might be worth submitting a bug report just so Bubble can confirm that it has intentionally been removed, if that is actually the case.

I made a post about this a week and a half ago:
What has happened to “this x” option for plugins? - Need help / Plugins - Bubble Forum

I thought it was related to just plugins but I think it’s beyond that

@mikeloc I don’t think it has to do with that release because I’ve definitely been able to find in the drop down “this <plugin’s> value’s X” much more recently than Mar 28 when they released that feature.

It’s been like this for a while, I have copy pasted previous “This x’s” expressions just to satisfy my OCD

Copy pasting previous x’s expression does work but not when that expression doesn’t previously exist.

Anyone have a ton of time on their hands to submit a bug report? I can get it done this weekend but if someone can get to it sooner, that would be great.

:shaking head no emoji:

I submitted one and pointed them to this thread… we’ll see what they say.

That feature didn’t become the default experience until August 8th, so l still think smart money might be on it being the culprit.

You’re the man. I hate submitting bug reports. Thanks a lot

yes i was having this issue a few days ago

Did this fix for anyone? Not sure how to solve this

I have not been told by Bubble that it’s fixed yet, but there is a super simple workaround… just select the actual input.

Hi @mikeloc I appreciate the quick response late in to the evening. I don’t think that workaround is possible when using the item# reference.

Sorry, @benrhall92, I don’t know what you are trying to do, but I’m also not sure if you understand this bug. The bug is that the shortcut of being able to select This Input instead of having to select the actual input itself has disappeared. The bug is not all that bad, though, because you can simply select the input itself instead of using the shortcut. Again, though, I don’t know what you are trying to do, but that’s what the bug is, and that’s what this thread is about.

The above being said, maybe it’s my fault for referring you to this thread from the Dragit thread, but it sounded like what you described over there was related to this bug… now I’m not so sure.

Hi Mike,

Apologies, you responded to my comment on another thread regarding the Drag It - RG to RG plugin. I should have provided some more context.

In the example above I couldn’t select “This DragIt”, I had to copy the reference from an example and paste it in (or I could have selected the input manually as a workaround, which I now know, cheers). However, I also can’t select the item after the “Item#” reference. I should be able to do “item#:This Items’ Rank” but I can’t :frowning:

I will keep playing around with it, see if I can figure out another workaround.

But thanks for the response and help, I appreciate it.

Well, here’s the funny part… I literally just got a message from Bubble support saying the bug is fixed, and I have confirmed the fix in my sandbox app. So, you shouldn’t have to copy and past This Input's value anymore because that shortcut is available again.
