Hey all, we started getting reports that users were experiencing timeouts and noticed that they line up almost exactly with the externally measured latency on the Bubble status page. Does anyone have insight into what causes these spikes? Would biting the bullet and moving to a dedicated server prevent us from having timeouts during spikes, or are these spikes caused by Bubble code or something at the AWS level?
The short answer is that yes, moving to a dedicated server would improve this and you would not be affected by spikes on the shared cluster.
Of course, that’s expensive and Bubble’s working pretty hard to get shared cluster reliability up. It has been getting better.
The other thing to keep in mind is that if users are getting timeouts, it implies that a lot is happening in the front end of the app and there are ways to optimize that, so that when Bubble does slow down, the users don’t really notice and things keep on moving swimmingly. Let me know if you want help there.
Thank you, appreciate the response!
