Updating field with Country and Dial Code plugin

I am using the plugin Country and Dial Code (Country and Dial Code Plugin | Bubble) where my user will create a thing in the db and set the country of that thing from a dropdown list.

When they open this thing up to edit it and update their thing, although the display is showing the selection they made upon creating, when they hit update it wipes the selection our from the database, unless the go and reselect the country from the dropdown.

Can anyone you tell me if I have something setup wrong here please?
