Warning For Potential Customers of Bubble

Same with software. You have massive open source projects where at any time hundred of programmers write software for. They use something like git to propose changes and in the end a few can commit.

Would be very easy to do the same with the online Bubble documentation. Hire anyone on this forum for a week to set it up and it will be up and running.

I never knew this. Great information. Does this also apply to the version-test? If we set up the api as you suggest will it work in both live and test versions?

See the limitation mentioned by @jonathan.heaberlin and @Sarah_Esteve in case you move to dedicated.

When calling your app from your own Bubble app, set your API call as:

[websiteHomeURL]api/1.1/wf/workflowname

Website home URL should be the ‘Website Home URL’ data source. That’ll ensure you always call the current version, and also the correct link.

When using externally, you generally need to hard code /version-test if it should point to the test version (or any other version).

Another trick to communicate within an app is the plugin Bubble app connector (not api connector, watch out for letters lol)

The only limitation is that only main and live are usable with it, not other branches (@jonathan.heaberlin it should be nice if we can use other branches with the app connector, because this is a bad limitation)

A couple other limitations of that plugin:

  • shorter timeout
  • can’t use option sets reliably
  • can’t have private parameters except the header

I’m gonna call you bubble-wikipedia on legs . You are incredible. This guys knows everything about Bubble.

The painfull part is options set. This is somethin that could be improved @fede.bubble OR best could be this %€#@×!^ ability to RETURN DATA when triggering an API Backend Workflow from frontend.

@nick.carroll can you ask again the team : is it definitely something not doable or ask for the reason why they don t ship that ? (Asked for years)

Support has become laughably bad. Still waiting for an initial response from my latest support ticket that I submitted about a week ago. And it’s becoming a nightmare to even find how to reach support. They keep wanting you to use the AI, and it’s frankly garbage.
