What's a Bubble-friendly way to extract file extensions?

I’m trying to extract the file extensions of files uploaded with the multi-file uploader but I can’t seem to figure out the correct regex syntax. I have tried various alternatives as found on StackOverflow. I suspect I’m missing some sort of Bubble trick/quirk to this. Anyone know the correct syntax?

For anyone else who might be interested, I figured out a way using JS toolbox plugin’s List Item Expression element. See below:
