can anyone give me a work flow so profiles only show up in certain cities, so for example if someone is to click on Sydney from the drop down bar, it will only show profiles of those located in Sydney

In repeating group just set data source with dynamic constraint which depends on the value from the dropdown.

First of all I advice you to use option sets. They are really fast things.
I did set an option set first.
Then I create a type (“Location” for here) in User Data Type and choose “Cities” type.
Then I create a dropdown to choose a city.
After all, I create a Repeating Group and listing users who living in dropdown choice’s value.
