I saw this post when it popped up to the top of the forum four days ago. I am interested in pushing the limits of what Bubble can do and what can be built on Bubble.
I thought your idea is really practical and helpful so I set off to find a solution. Hopefully one day this is something that Bubble will understand is necessary for complex apps, but in the interim, I’ve started upon a solution.
Before you get too excited, I can’t make this a public plugin yet for a couple of reasons.
- The images are stored on the cloud which has a cost. I tested the process on an internal app which ended up having 78 workflow steps (and countless number of actions). Trying to put a cost on that presently would be difficult for me until I collect some more data (I would like to offer the plugin for free but the cost of storage would make that problematic).
- Unfortunately, I have yet to create a solution that doesn’t require having username/pass credentials. While I could use encryption it would have to be reversible and thereby could present a security concern.
To see this in action select an app from the app dropdown and a corresponding page (e.g. chartsdemo / index at the top of the following page. Note: This app is not generating the images, it is simply showing images that have already been generated. If you want to see a a different app/page you may make that request and I can generate images for a few more public available apps/editors.

I am open to a small number of private beta testers who are willing to pass tokenized credentials into a workflow if there is any interest in kicking this rock down the road further.
