Hi Bubblers,
I’ve been considering applying for the Airdev Partner Program but first have a few questions for those of you that are currently in the program or have done it before.
- What is your experience in the program?
- Do you get enough work to make a full time income?
- Do you spend a lot of time interacting with the clients? Or mostly developing?
- Anything else that you would like to say about it.
Thanks in advance!!
They used to post pretty regularly about searching for new partners (but last time they posted about it was ~ 1 year ago).
Haven’t worked with them and haven’t heard anything bad about their program.
In my opinion, their projects are a bit of a nightmare for other freelancers to pick up, heavily templated and copied from other apps. Just finished working on one of their FinTech apps and it was littered with references to dogs and pets, someone else’s handyman hire app was littered with references to pianos and music. Seems they copy from other people’s apps and don’t clean up what’s not needed including old design, old database fields, + unused pages. Plus I think they are far too reliant on reusables that don’t fit the client’s needs that have simply been copied from other apps. Perhaps they have changed practices since WU was brought in, both of these apps were not built this year or perhaps they are not aware of what their own partners are doing. I’ve had at least 4 clients now that have left them due to cost and taking too long to complete tasks but it’s hard to say whether this is because of scoping problems on the client’s side or mismatch in client/agency budget expectations. What is clear is that the apps are not designed specifically for each client’s use case.
