Announcing Buildprint AI: Build on Bubble with Claude Code and Codex šŸŽ‰

In project settings you can specify in the style guidelines

Trial plan works!

To access your database, you’d need to either:

  • open data API and give extension access
  • have a backend workflow that returns data to give it access
  • pass it data in the API call to the extension

Generally speaking it’s not gonna save WU except where it’s replacing more complex recursive logic that might be doing more searches than necessary

@georgecollier Is there an issue with automations? I created a manual automation, clicked Run now but it just isn’t running I think? I can’t see it anywhere. The prompt also says to create an issue in Linear but that isn’t being created either.

Idk automations are kinda fucked and I’ll overhaul them at some point

Side chats

Side chats can now be created in new conversations.

Side chats allow you to ask questions about Buildprint’s work / plan other items without blocking the main agent.

What would you say is the best way then for me to know when LIve is deployed? I have some external automations for changelog and knowledge base updates but I just need to hook to live being deployed somehow. Or just not possible atm?

Webhook should be reliable

Hi George, BP is amaaaaaazing ! see below, a little request

Project documentation is currently stored in the workspace filesystem, but it is not automatically included when a new conversation starts.

As a result:

  • The documentation persists as files in the workspace.
  • A new conversation does not automatically know that these files exist or read their contents.
  • Context passed through conversation handoffs may mention the files, but this is not equivalent to loading the project documentation.
  • The assistant must be explicitly instructed to inspect the project documentation at the beginning of each new conversation.
  • Without that instruction, decisions may rely only on the conversation history and can miss previously documented business rules.

Ideally, project-level documentation should be automatically discovered and loaded across all conversations associated with the same project or workspace. This would provide a shared, persistent source of truth independent of individual conversation history.

I’ll do it at some point, main thing to work out is the actual hierarchy of files and permissions

i.e it’s plausible that as a user, you may want your own personal files an agent can access, but not to be shared with the team. similarly, some files you may want other team members to be access.

@georgecollier just wondering if Buildprint is down? I’ve had issues being able to access it for almost a day :grimacing:

Fortunately this thread would’ve been spammed if it were, what browser are you on? Do you have Adblock enabled?

That’s what I thought too!

Thanks for confirming, I’ve done some more digging and it seems the resolver suddenly had an issue with all .ai domains

Back to work now :folded_hands:

Buildprint iOS beta

I’m still trying to get my head around this extensions feature.

I prototyped a design the other day, it did an amazing job. But it built it out in extensions area before applying it to my bubble app. Not sure why?

Anyway buildprint is saving me at least 30% of my time at the moment, I’m really enjoying it.
So I thought I’d push the boundaries and try and build a QR code generator for a unique link feature.

After chatting to build print about it it recommended to use extensions, so I have a few questions.

Is extensions a little bit like a place where code is stored out side of bubble and bubble links to it?

If I’m successful building a QR Code generator with buildprint and the extensions feature, what happens if I stop using buildprint or George from buildprint gets assassinated by Emanuel or Josh (Sorry Bad Joke there! ) would I still have access to this QR code feature I’ve built.

Anyway sorry for the naivety here, I’m not really a coder and build print is becoming extremely sticky software for me so trying to assess the risk if Buldprint was to suddenly not work.

Cheers

Because it is easier for an agent to iterate in HTML than in Bubble. It means that you can quickly iterate, and once you know what you want the result to be, it’ll go and build it into Bubble.

You can download the source code for any extension from the Extensions tab by clicking on the associated deployment  Then, it would be fairly easy to self host with Cloudflare.

Wow we got mr. code export over here :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

@georgecollier Thoughts on allowing open source (free) plugins onto buildprint without a paid plan so the community can get better solutions?

This is already a thing, free open source plugins can contact and get a free credit

Logs pricing made cheaper

In case you missed the newsletter, logs are now up to 50% cheaper. We’ve changed them to a flat rate of $0.90/million logs.

Bug fixes and performance improvements

  • we’ve continued to fix bugs; we try to contact users when their reports are fixed
  • fixes only take effect in new conversations
  • buildprint sync is now up to 80% faster and uses 60% less memory in large apps - previously, it could cause sandboxes to timeout with high memory usage
  • buildprint clone is about 30% faster for large apps, and we’ll shortly be rolling out server-side caching so that new clones on unchanged branches start much faster
