Blocking Langzhou, China & SIngapore Bots + Workload Units

Hi all, I have a bubble app and recently I’ve had a surge of visitors from Langzhou China and Singapore, which is causing a surge in workload units. I haven’t had success setting up cloudflare with my bubble account, blocking bots on my robots.txt, and I don’t know what alternatives there are to setting up a fire wall or mitigating the workload costs tied to these AI bots on my app. Any advice from the community?

Try setting up https://www.cloudflare.com/ in your app.

Their free version has few tools you can use to block different types of bots.
Thye even have a mode called ’ under attack mode’ that you can turn on/off manually.

look inot it, its easy to setup and doesnt require you to change anything in your bubble app

Hi, thanks for replying! my understanding is that Bubble doesn’t allow you to proxy your own Cloudflare service, since the entire Bubble Server is on Cloudflare already. Bubble doesn’t allow you to customize your own firewall rules unless you are on the Enterprise plan. So in other words, no one benefits from geo-blocking or custom firewall capabilities to prevent this type of traffic from these regions.

Bubble needs to expose more Cloudflare settings to non-Enterprise users.

thanks for the tips. configured them just now. super easy to setup. jsut turn toggles on

You can setup cloudflare for your app. Try it, maybe im n ost aware if you need a particular feature, but what you are describing, i have solved it already for another app using cloudflare and it was not an enterprise app !
