Can BBCode be used to call Ionic or Material icons? Or just Font Awesome?

I’ve seen people use short code to put Font Awesome icons into text. Example: [fa]address-book[/fa]

Can you use a shortcode to add icons to text elements using either the Ionic or Material Design icon plugins?

I think bubble supports only Font Awesome Icon Library.
