Changes to how we charge for applications going forward

This is something we’re actually exploring for health data as Bubble is not compliant in Europe.
Next to that, we use Xano on numerous apps as a database/backend

What are the alternatives?

I was indeed around then but the changes were a bit different. I was ok paying a bit more monthly because I support the platform. But this is a fundamental change that seriously limits growth potential.

Please, answer here:

I haven’t noticed a slowdown, yeah it’s an API call per webpage, but many users do that already using the API connector.

Also much cheaper than these new plans

Don’t do that. It’s not too late to back out, remove the data limit.

Please don’t ruin all the potential of Bubble with a single post, especially if it’s going to go unanswered…

Is this the overage cost?

According to @emmanuel screen shot, it’s $20 per 5k DB items per month.

Is this correct?

That’s $400/mo per 100k DB items that you go over?

I think Wappler’s recent video series on their node.js server model is pretty good. It was put together by a Wappler forum regular named Ben…really nice guy and super helpful.

I think Bubble needs to upgrade their Discourse forum plan as they exceeded the number of rows per post.

You are in no way locked in. You can even code it yourself without using the ui.

I would consider building a custom plugin to connect to any type of hosted databases if it weren’t because they will find a way to limit plugins and api connector to restrict the loophole.

Sorry, but that’s insane.

 good one even if I can’t laugh or smile today

These changes seriously inhibit Bubble’s stated mission to enable everyone to build powerful web applications.

Database is what enables powerful web applications. It’s what webflow lacks.

We’re now being forced to seek alternative database solutions like Xano due to pricing limitations.

Im curious what front end do you use? Im planning to learn about xano but it seems i would need to use other a cdn too if i wish to host videos too.

You are 100% correct. The example I was giving is the best-case scenario for Bubble. After this price change I see absolutely no reason to be operating on Bubble. The internal database was Bubble’s biggest selling point.

Time to learn Xano and Webflow!

This is the AVERAGE Bubble user

Yup. One user trust is gone, it’s hard to ever get it back, and without trust the business erodes.

Big tech firms with corporate clients, like cloud service providers, understand this – trust is everything.

For everyone considering Wappler, I bought a year’s license last year and got nowhere. Its a cool product but is no way near as newbie friendly as Bubble is. I sincerely hope Bubble reverses this decision.
