Color variables limit are there still 32 colors?

Color variations have or had a limit of 32 colors.

Now we no longer have anything saying that there is this limit of 32 colors, neither in the project nor in the documentation.

Does anyone know if there is still a limit?

Looks like that limit was removed recently:

Create unlimited style variables. Larger and more complex apps can easily require more than 32 style variables — the previous limit before we removed this cap. Now you can create as many as you need!
