Ctrl+click to choose several items not working

Hi Everyone,
Im trying a keyboard shortcut that used to work, ctrl+click on items repeatedly then right click to group them together and the multiple ctrl+click is not working, any idea why?

They changed this a while ago (for some unknown reason) without mentioning it…

Now you have to use shift+click to select multiple elements instead of ctrl+click

shift+click works for selecting multiple elements.
