Doesn't seem like we can add NPM packages yet

Hi forums,

It doesn’t seem like we can add NPM packages to the new native mobile editor yet. Trying to add a package like the following doesn’t seem to do anything (I’ve tried 4 - 5 packages at this point) :

Inspecting props in the debugger, I don’t see any changes to the library.

Furthermore, it doesn’t seem that the babble is enabled and so I can’t used react-native-reanimated and react-native-gesture-handler together, meaning I have to rely on the legacy Animated available in react-native :frowning:

Does anyone at Bubble have any insight? This limitation is making my life really hard …

Cheers,

Jonah

You should understand how react native works. It needs a lot of time to build android and ios apps. Although you added them to the library list it will take time to see the effect.

While assuming they support external libraries, there will be some version incompatibility issues with the react native version bubble supports. So it’s hard to nail it down why it doesn’t work.

I can’t find the place where I can put external libraries. how did you find them?

I’ve been told by someone in the alpha that they don’t support dynamic libraries yet but it’s on their roadmap (I asked after I spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out myself).

I’m unsure why they added false information to the instructions though :see_no_evil_monkey:

You can’t add your own libraries, they have to be added by Bubble

Also, are you sneakily trying to build a Dungeons and Dragons plugin, @jonah.deleseleuc?

It doesn’t work because I can’t install babble. Those packages you see in the list are the already installed packages.

 dnd = drag and drog

you just exposed yourself, nerd
