The app has been on the starter plan since May 2024. The app is in production and the client is happy.
Now I just logged back into the editor and I notice that in the bubble dashboard it already says “free plan”. I checked the settings: domain name is set but not reachable.
Everything states that this app is on the free plan. However the second I log into the editor I receive a billing email from bubble saying
" Hello,
We’ve successfully charged your credit card for your application xxx. The amount is $32.
Please find your invoice here and attached to this email. All invoices are also available for download in the Billing & Invoices section of your Account page."
Support has been informed but this is a new level of failure. Has anybody here every experience this kind of behavior or has read of it here in the forum?
And by the way the red Icon on top of the editor is not clickable and has been gone after a refresh.
Maybe they tried to charge you and were unable to do so. As a result, your app was downgraded to the free plan. Have you checked to see if you received any other emails warning you about missed charges?
Did you lose anything as a result of this downgrade? Database records? Plugins?..
Nope. Happened to me too. I paid, but the app was down. So I attempted to pay again. They confirmed payment, but didn’t charge my card. Except the service was restored. I bet there is a conditional check that they run before charging the card and thats what restored service for me. Fortunately for me though my app is a rather complicated work in progress where I make, test & iterate tiny changes daily hence noticed the bug almost immediately.
Sorry dude. Happened to me too. Just try upgrading the app again. It will resolve the bug and restore it to the custom domain. If you already have a paid subscription as above you wont be charged.
No to everything. Credit card works fine, no emails about anything. I have no idea how long it was down.
Now everything is restored to normal since I have reloaded the editor. But this frightens me to hell tbh.
Thanks I have got an answer 2 mins ago that asked me if everything works again. Yes it does as I have stated here already. But the point is how can something like this even happen? It should not be possible. This case needs a postmortem.
There’s about 10 postmortems pending from Bubble on so many different things that shouldn’t have happened.
Like someone said, this is not the first time it’s happened and Bubble is aware of this failure in their system but nothing was done the first time and I doubt anything will be done now to fix this properly.
It’s back to normal. Phew! What in the world was that? I didn’t even change anything. It was just down all of a sudden and my user had to contact me to tell me there was an issue. How embarrassing.
