Importing from figma to bubble

Hi Bubble Support Team,
I’m currently on a free trial account and experiencing two critical issues while importing Figma designs into my Bubble application:

  1. API Key Limit Exhausted**: After multiple import attempts from Figma, I’m now receiving an “API key limit exhausted” error. Could you please clarify the specific API limits for Figma integration on a free trial account, and how I might reset or manage these limits?
  2. Blank Pages After Import:** After importing specific pages/frames from my Figma file, the imported pages appear completely blank in Bubble, even though the uploads seem successful. I’ve ensured the frames are correctly structured in Figma.

Could you kindly assist by:

  • Clarifying API call limits for free trial users?
  • Providing recommended steps to resolve the blank page issue?

Hey @akshatha

While Bubble’s free trial plan offers a generous rate limit of 1,000 API calls per minute, it’s possible to exceed this limit during intensive operations like multiple Figma imports. If you frequently hit the rate limit, consider upgrading to a Professional plan or higher. These plans allow you to increase the rate limit by adding capacity units, with each unit providing an additional 1,000 requests per minute.

For the blank pages issue, ensure that your Figma frames are top-level elements, as Bubble imports each top-level frame as a new page. Invisible items in Figma won’t be imported, so make sure all necessary elements are visible. You can also use Figma’s auto-layout feature which can enhance the accuracy of the import, ensuring that elements are properly aligned and structured.

If problems persist, it might be a bug. Filing a bug report with Bubble’s support team can help address the issue.
