Is there an In-App purchase event that triggers when a user changes their subscription level; i.e. switches from a Basic to a Pro plan?
I need to make some database changes when this happens. It doesn’t seem to trigger on the Subscription Created trigger…at least not in test. I haven’t tried it in a live build.
My only idea right now is to run a check periodically to see if the subscription changes, then run the workflow.
I’d personally avoid relying only on a periodic check if there’s any cleaner subscription-status event available, because then you’re constantly asking the app to check something that may not have changed.
What I’d probably do is:
- keep the user’s current plan/status in the database
- whenever Bubble/store subscription data updates, compare the new value with the saved one
- only run the database changes when those two values are different
- keep a slower periodic check as a fallback, rather than the main trigger
hey, Bubble has a backend In-app purchase event for this.
it runs when Bubble receives a billing update. use the event type and subscription purchase data to detect the plan change, then run your DB updates.

imo, polling shouldn’t be your main trigger. keep it as a fallback if needed.
