I know thereās still a lot to do, but itās good to see something really relevant and desired coming to lightā¦
Donāt get too excited. I have had access for a while and still donāt think itās very good. Still needs a lot of work.
I think itās a monumental step forward and based on the apps Iāve seen published, it definitely enables a lot of use cases for users.
The good news is that the mobile team has a super solid roadmap for the rest of the year to keep adding more functionality as well
Nice!
Hello, what about existing web apps or those of us who have just started building, is there a way to convert to mobile or you have to start over and select native?
I got access a few months back and spent a day on it and have not gone back again. I think at the time there were not ways to show lists easily, and when speaking with a bubble team member they demonstrated for me the workaround needed and I just couldnāt imagine myself attempting those types of tricks.
Iāve been sitting on the sidelines and seeing the forum posts from the team on new features and it seems like they have hit a very solid pace and are likely going to continue to make great advancements. Iām looking forward to seeing it with more features and less bugs before I begin to wade back into the waters.
Do you mind explaining what this means for web apps currently being built? Are they automatically mobile now or??
Hi everyone,
Iāve been developing an app in Bubble for several months now, planning to publish it on the Play Store and App Store. Iāve been working on it as a web app, and the idea was to use BDK once the app is ready (in a few days). Now this new Native Mobile App feature has been released, and I have a few doubts:
- Can I easily transfer everything Iāve done in the web app to the native mobile app, or would I need to copy each element manually and review all the workflows?
- Is it really worth trying out the Native Mobile App tool, or should I stick to my original plan? I understand native apps might offer faster navigation between menus, for example, but Iām a bit concerned that since this is still in beta, it could cause issues.
- Also, the app will include an in-app subscription system for the App Store and Play Store, so Iām not sure if Iāll still need BDK anyway.
Iād really appreciate hearing your thoughts, as Iām feeling a bit lost and unsure of what to do.
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Ćngel
A Bubble web app and a Bubble mobile app are separate apps. They do share the same database. All your users and data are interoperable between your web and mobile apps.
Bubble is now calling your apps āprojectsā where a web app can contain a mobile app and/or a web app. You can add a mobile version to any web app.
This is also my exact concern
I donāt think so. You will probably need to build āeverythingā again.
Stick to your original plan. It is going to take months until the mobile app builder became reliable. Not to mention all the features that still need to be added. Remember, this is a Beta version.
No, they remain exactly as they are. If you want to build a Mobile App, you will need to start from scratch. But you wll be able to share the database and backend workflows from your Web App with your Mobile App.
