Looking to make this <video and picture thing?>. Advice?

Hi all – I’m looking to make a horizontal scrolling group that contains a list of video and picture thumbnails, which can be clicked to represent them in a fuller window.

Something similar to what Steam has in their UI (below), but can’t seem to figure it out.

Is this possible? If not, is something similar possible? Maybe a plug-in? Any ideas appreciated!
