Yes, this is just a matter of point of view and I respect your opinion as well.
I agree that a lot of effort is needed to make a fully fonctionnal website or a template even when using Bubble.
I think it is much more interesting to have multiple small parts that we can combine together (kind of plugins) rather than a full template that we will have to modify entirely. Something closer to a proof of concept.
If you want to build a marketplace similar to another marketplace, there are tools for that similar to wordpress (more like a content management system).
I also don’t believe that Bubble will or should follow the path of Wordpress. Templates are perfect for Wordpress because wordpress is meant to let users focus on content rather than developping features.
With Bubble you have full control on the logic and data behind your app. It has much more to offer than being a content management system. Of course, each has its advantages and Bubble will never replace Wordpress.
When you have a wordpress template, the template itself has parameters that you can easily modify. More complex templates will have more parameters but you still have a kind of settings pannel for the whole template. In Bubble you cannot achieve that now, so you would have to go through the entire app, understand its logic and modify many different places in the workflow to achieve what you want.
I know by experiencing that builing a new page from scratch in Bubble is easy, but modifying an already existing page can be sometimes really annoying especially if it has many elements. I can only imagine that this is more an issue when the page has been designed by someone else.
Finally my feeling about most templates that are available (I don’t know if they are yours or not, I speak in general) is that most of them only reproduce the visual aspect of the website they try to duplicate, and most of the difficult aspects are missing (responsiveness, full height pages, and other things that are currently ahrd to achieve with bubble).
Personnally, I would rather buy a video tutorial explaining how to make the equivalent of twitter with bubble rather than a twitter template.
This is a very personal opinion, and I have to tell that I did not try any of your templates. But as I said previously, I am much more interested in Bubble templates to see how they are working rather than using them to start a project. Such templates sold with a paid tutorial (just as code snippets are often sold with tutorials) would be much more interesting for me.
I hope to be constructive here.
Anyway, good luck with your project
PS : I am sorry that this conversation turned so bad, I really thought that it would be a constructive exchange arround how we see the future of Bubble template.
