I see your point and I didn’t mean to be rude to anyone.
I just think bubble already makes developing and mainting a web app a whole lot cheaper, to the point that virtually anyone motivated to learn how to use platform and with a few bucks in the bank can dream with it.
A coupple years ago, I tried to build a web app hiring a small tradicional agency and it was a terrible experience. I payed for development, hosting, SSL, etc. The final result was way below my expectation and full of bugs. Everytime I wanted to change the color of a button, I had to pay. And everytime the app was down, I was completely dependent on them to fix it. That’s how I found bubble, some 6 years ago.
It took me less then 6 months to learn bubble to the point of building my own app and I have been using it since that time.
I can deploy new functions by myself, in a blink.
I rely on bubble engineers to keep the app alive and updated as browsers and related stuff changes over time.
The only downside I see is the lock in situation, wich I didn’t consider as a problem, and hope it never will be. All it takes is bubble maintaining the platform stable and at a reasonable price in the long run.
I am very concerned about last week’s new pricing announcement.
Mine is a very small app, mainly for personnal use, only a few people other than me using it. After six years, I have many things in the db and the new pricing would hit my app very hard, probably killing it, forcing me to externalize the db or move to another nocode option.
Honestly I’m a bit worried here. The what are you willing to pay question seems a bit odd and I would honestly hope that they will shift their focus more on charging enterprise clients substiantially more.
When we hear of apps making 500K revenue per year or more, why not let the clients take the heavy load off the pricing? It makes the system fair for everyone.
Hi bubble leaders (@josh@emmanuel ) I would like to make a payment for Next 3 Years (All together). I don’t want any increase in my current app’s specs. Just to survive the upcoming price change, Lucky to have the legacy plan.
