Searching external APIs

I’d like my users to search an external API by entering a search term. The API is successfully connected through Bubble’s API connector. I’m looking at the Bubble Learning Center Lesson “Using external APIs:
Search for songs in the iTunes API”. When connecting the Data Source to iTunes, I’m prompted to choose a “Term to Search”. Screenshot:

When I connect my Data Source, I don’t get that same prompt:

I’m lost on how I can have users search my external API without being able to link to a search term input. What am I missing?

Check if you have ‘private’ checked in your API setup. To pass in data later on, you’ll need to make sure it isn’t private. See below pics for an example:
