Seeking Experienced Bubble Developer

Bubble Developer Needed for Google Calendar OAuth (Live App, 100+ Users, Long-Term Potential)

Hi Bubble Community! :waving_hand:

I’m a solo founder who built and launched a Bubble app called Thrive on a Dime, a live coaching and metaphysical services platform designed for self growth and development at a price everyone can afford.

The beta launched on October 1st, and the app is now live with 100+ sign-ups and growing daily. Up until now, I’ve built everything myself, but as the platform scales, I’m looking to bring in an experienced Bubble developer — starting with one well-scoped project — with the hope of continuing the relationship long-term if it’s a great fit.

Initial Project: Google Calendar OAuth & Sync

This is currently the biggest pain point for coaches on the platform.

Goal:
Allow coaches to connect their Google Calendar so their availability inside Thrive on a Dime stays in sync with their external calendar and prevents double bookings.

High-level scope includes:

  • Google OAuth connection

  • Calendar permissions & scopes

  • Reading busy/availability times

  • Preventing double bookings

  • Clean UX for connecting, disconnecting, and re-authentication

Important context:
I’ve already started implementing Google Calendar OAuth in Bubble and got about halfway through (Google Cloud project, OAuth credentials, and initial auth flow). I’m looking for a developer who’s comfortable jumping into an existing app to review what’s been built, complete the remaining logic, and help make it stable and production-ready.

Experience I’m Specifically Looking For

Because Thrive on a Dime is a live app with active users, I’m looking for a developer who has experience beyond MVPs or test apps.

In particular, I’m hoping to work with someone who is comfortable with:

  • Working on live Bubble apps

  • Managing development vs. live versions safely

  • Deploying features to production without disrupting users

  • Collaborating in a multi-developer environment

  • Advising on Bubble plan upgrades and best practices as the app scales

Up until now I’ve worked alone, so I’m looking for someone who can help me adopt clean, professional dev → live workflows as we grow.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer (Important)

Since I built the app myself, there isn’t formal technical documentation yet. That’s intentional — and part of what I want to improve in this next phase.

I’m not looking for heavy retroactive documentation of everything that already exists. However, it is important to me that I clearly understand how new features are built and how workflows function over time.

For new work, I’d like documentation to be considered part of “done,” such as:

  • Clear explanations of how features are implemented

  • Lightweight written notes or comments for key workflows

  • Loom walkthroughs for complex logic

The goal is long-term maintainability and ensuring I’m never dependent on a single developer.

What Comes Next (If It’s a Good Fit)

If this initial project goes well, I’d love to continue working together on:

  • Outlook calendar sync

  • AI session summaries and onboarding insights

  • Twilio SMS reminders

  • Stripe Connect for coach payments

  • Much more

If You’re Interested

Please reply or DM me with:

  • A brief intro

  • Your Bubble experience (especially live apps)

  • Any OAuth / API work you’ve done

  • Examples of apps you’ve worked on

  • Your availability and preferred engagement style

Here is a forum post for more info about the app and my Bubble journey.

Thanks so much for reading — I’m excited to find someone from this community to collaborate with and help take Thrive on a Dime to the next level :folded_hands:

Hi Laura (@laura5 )

I am a solo developer building in Bubble for nearly 8 years now. I’ve worked extensively on scheduling and calendar apps since releasing the first Calendly Clone template available on Bubble, which has now become a free template powered by my plugin. I’ve built multiple applications with Google Calendar integrated starting in 2020.

One client project I was brought into, was an app built by the solo founder for HR at corporations aimed at helping with employee retention. I was brought in to provide the Google Calendar integration and Zoom integration while the software was live and in use by a few corporations. During the course of working on the platform, my client, was continuously expanding his client base. Once all integrations were complete he successfully landed the NBA as a paying client, which then led him to his first round of fund raising, achieving a $500,000 fund raising round. So, my experience working on serious applications with live users, performing tasks while managing existing user base and feature sets without much documentation means I am well versed in this type of situation and likely will be able to work well within the scope of your project.

Besides integrations with Google Calendar and zoom, I’ve completed for many clients integrations with Outlook calendar, and even have experience creating a single unified view of multiple synced and internal calendars and events into one custom calendar view. I’ve also been putting together complex payment flows using Stripe for clients in various marketplace and freelancer service provider systems since 2019 when I released a course on integrating with Stripe.

I primarily work with solo founders acting as their CTO, helping them begin, launch, expand, scale and monetize their applications.

You can find some examples by browsing my templates such as my coaches marketplace template Skillup my calendly clone template ScheduleMe.

If you’d like to discuss your project scope and see if I may be a good fit for you, please feel free to reach out via PM to arrange a meeting time.

Cheers

Matt

Hello, Laura.

I came across your post looking for a Bubble dev to handle Google Calendar OAuth and sync for Thrive on a Dime—sounds like a smart move to keep coaches’ schedules tight and avoid those double bookings. You’re after OAuth setup, pulling busy times, permissions, and a clean way for folks to connect or disconnect, all while jumping into what you’ve already started on the Google Cloud side. Got it, and I’ll review what’s there, finish the flows, and make sure it’s rock-solid for your live users.

On your question about managing dev versus live versions, I’d set up a proper workflow with Bubble’s versioning—test everything in dev mode first, then deploy to live without touching active data. We can use conditions to roll out features gradually if needed, keeping things smooth for your 100+ sign-ups.

I’ve got hands-on with this kind of thing. Recently, I helped a wellness platform integrate Google Calendar OAuth in Bubble—handled the auth flow, synced availabilities to block slots in real-time, and added a simple dashboard for users to manage connections. It cut down booking errors big time for their instructors. Also, I wired up API integrations including Outlook sync (similar to what you’re eyeing next), with OAuth for secure access and logic to read/write calendar events without conflicts. Focused on clean UX for reconnecting if tokens expire, and documented the workflows with notes and quick videos.

This fits right in with scaling your app, and I’m free to start this week on a full-time basis, maybe 30-40 hours to knock this out. Prefer async updates via Slack or email, with a quick call to align at the start.

Best regards.
