The problem with using API objects is that the data doesn’t show up properly in the database. I don’t care about “code export” at all but a database needs to have all the information plainly available (e.g., for quick checks, external analytics, processing, etc.).
In the meantime you can link them these posts:

No. The core platform was created pre-AI and hasn’t changed much since then. I’ve said it countless times that Bubble is asleep at the wheel when it comes to actually interfacing with AI (on multiple fronts). I don’t understand their strategy to be honest.
Hook new builders in with AI generation
Said new builders realize working with JSON in Bubble is nasty
New builder moves to [insert any other platform here]
But we are getting a new property editor at least.
Are there any plans to introduce a native JSON field type?
Right now, working with JSON is very limited. We often end up storing raw JSON in text fields, manually parsing strings, or relying on third-party plugins that don’t integrate cleanly with the rest of the editor. It would be incredibly useful to support native manipulation of JSON objects directly in the editor.
Curious to hear if this is something on your roadmap.
More generally, I hope you guys realize that building AI apps is going to be the next big thing and build your roadmap around that accordingly. Short term, this means native JSON field types and native JSON parsing; long-term, native video recording/websockets.
I think you should focus on the people who are making AI apps under the assumption that models won’t reach AGI for a while. This means basic stuff like native JSON parsing (instead of having to rely on plugins, or calling your own public backend workflow through the API/App Connector), maybe a JSON data type (instead of just text).
Like I guarantee none of the devs/PMs have tried to make a fully-featured and semi-complex AI app. Focus on making Bubble the best-in-class product for dealing with JSON and APIs, that’s what you need to do to have full market share over this space.
