What Is The 'Find In Searches' Privacy Setting?

I have a thing that checks the last created thing and then adds +1 to it, but i realized just recently that it was always “1” after a recent privacy setting change that prevented the everyone else role from being able to view the number-field, OR the:

When an API workflow is run it is run in the context of the user that triggered it? Wouldn’t that mean the privacy rule applies for the current user that triggered the workflow throughout the process of that workflow?

What is ‘Find this in searches’ exactly if it doesn’t look like the app is finding it in searches?

And does the field need to be viewable to the app so that it can search and find the last item created and add a +1 too it?

What exactly is ‘revealed’ or not when the ‘find in searches’ setting is turned on or off?

I recently discovered that you need to use the Log the user in action in the API workflow if you want the information to be passed. Not sure it help in this case.

Ya I still don’t have an idea what ‘find this in searches means’ as it relates to the ‘visible fields’ setting.

I think the thing can be found, but nothing is visible within it. i.e. the unique id may be searchable and that’s about it.

Related to all Do Search, not limited to unique id imo. My checkbox is always checked.
