Why DOES bubble not work with 'if-then'?

In Excel you have “if Condition A is true, Then-> Value1”.

Bubble does not work that way, you can work around it with building more actions in a workflow and use the conditional 'only when a lot. But this means I am often repeating actions multiple times for all possible outcomes of variables on different fields, next to using the Custom states a lot.
It is cumbersome.
What is the reason why Bubble does not employ the easy construct of ‘If -> Then’?

However an else feature in workflows would be neat.
