This guy built an app using Bubble and makes &99k/month.
Seriously? It’s an interview with the guy. I’m trying to share a positive story here.
When did this community become so negative? This used to be a positive place. I guess a lot of negative stuff is happening in the world. Must be impacting a lot of people.
Maybe they were once on Bubble, they’re not any more - their app is built on React
Sharing a guy that is scammy and the so called 1M ARR guy that is scammy, with anecdotal evidence, timeline numbers + revenue is scammy.
You can check starter story on web. And see it your self.
It is not “just an interview” and it is not positive to share that here, actual people actually using Bubble to create products to solve problems and get some ideas, rapport, providing feedback is what community is for. Not another slop.
I actually assisted on this project Magai back in 2023. It was 100% originally built on bubble and the creator Dustin is a super nice guy. He was doing some very cool things with his app but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s moved off to a native tool. His app was heavily focused on combining multiple AI tools into one platform to be easily used by a person without needing to swap between AI platforms.
He did have a fair number of paying users on his bubble app at the time!

Yes indeed! The app had some very cool UI/UX and I really appreciated what we were able to do. Was really pushing the bounds of the bubble app at the time back in mid 2023.

I can try to dig around a but keep in mind this “starter story” people are not affiliated with us (meaning Bubble). They just made content that mentioned Bubble in the stack
I feel relieved, starter story is a scam. I don’t want Bubbles reputation to be affected.

I cant vouch that what he’s saying is completely true but its pretty hard to fake this.
Not everything on there and some of the stuff people interviewed have done can be done in bubble. Some of the things I’ve seen on there that attracted me to watching more were people with 3-5 micro-SaaS products each pulling in around 5-10K a month after 2 years, with repeatable fail fast approaches to finding the next small hit they can add to their list of recurring revenue generators.
Some of best advice is to just research what others are doing successfully and copy and improve it or niche it down. Most things I’ve seen there are people making 150-250K a year.

People who feel unsuccessful and insecure are the loudest most negative people on the internet. They also tend to have the most time on their hands to make negative comments. Successful people have less time, and see no value in trying to tear other people down.
My story is true. I’ve been as transparent as I can (safely) be. And if people want to see it as scammy, fake, or impossible, it says more about them than it does about me.
I hope the story was encouraging to you. I had to go through a ton of hardship that Starter Story didn’t have time to cover to get where I am. I nearly lost everything (including my own life) before finding Bubble and creating Magai.
Everyone has their own journey, and I wouldn’t wish mine on anyone. But if you stick to it, commit to improving other people’s lives, and refuse to quit, you’ll make it.
And as one commenter said, we are now almost fully transitioned off of Bubble. It was great for a while, but the limitations were killing our progress. So we had to go 100% custom code with our small team of developers.

I think some people can’t even comprehend that type of money so they think it’s impossible. But entrepreneurs know this sort of thing is possible. So glad to hear directly from you. Thanks for chiming in. It’s much appreciated.
It’s physically impossible to make $1,000 on the first day with a brand new bootstrapped app from an unknown company/founder. At a 1% conversion rate, you would need 5,000 signups. 5,000 signups means ~150K impressions. You got that on the first day?
