I struggled with this error: Build failed for Apple.
It was apparently because I hadn’t accepted a Terms and Conditions update on my Apple Developer account (on https://developer.apple.com/, not appstoreconnect.apple.com).
Saying this so you don’t spend time filing a bug report, investigating your app for hours, and trying to deploy six times like me.
Bubble, please make the build error messages more explicit.
