Apple Developer -- DUNS Number Tip

Waiting for your DUNS number to enroll in the Apple Developer program is annoying and can take up to 30 days if you do not pay for expedited service and do it right through their website.

Apple also has a form that allows you to enroll. However, I spoke with someone at Duns & Bradstreet, who informed me that using this link is the quickest way to receive your number (within five business days). I can confirm it took less than two business days.

Follow up → as mentioned, you can also get it right through Apple.

Once you are assigned the number, it takes Apple up to 48 hours to receive the information.

Two main takeaways:

  • Do NOT apply through the standard form on dnb.com. Unless you pay $200+, it will take a while to get your number, delaying your Apple Developer enrollment
  • Plan ahead as this process takes at best a few business days to complete

I guess I lucked out because the Apple search for my DUNS was instant :sweat_smile:. It did say it could take up to 48 hours but I received the email with it instantly.

I fell into a DUNS number rabbit hole on Reddit the other night. It’s a healthy mix of “What’s everyone complaining about? I got it all sorted in a day” and “Why am I still waiting? It’s been weeks.”
