Are Option Sets updateable by users? If they are, how do I achieve this?

I’ve got a dropdown in which the options come from an option set. I want users of my app to be able to add items to this underlying option set. Is this possible? I can only find DataTypes under the “Create a new thing…” Am I missing this ability elsewhere or can it not be done?
Creating a single field Data Type just for the values in this option set seems like overkill but I’ll go down that route if I have to.

Hi there, @joefarrowsmith… no, option sets are not updateable by users. If you need users to be able to add an option to a set of options, you have to use a data type.
