Auto-binding - how on earth

Im trying to use auto-binding to make a form that allows users to modify entries previously made. It seems that auto-binding is ideal for this. However when I add a privacy rule on a DS the dropdowns attached to that DS stop working.

Check the privacy rules to ensure you have autobinding checked. If left unchecked, you won’t be able to use auto-binding on that datatype.

I should have said, even with auto-binding enabled I still cant use the dropdowns

Can you confirm that the user you’re logged in as checks against the applied privacy rule?

I got it to work. I turned on everything for the current user and other users. Which is what I want anyhow. I thought I had done it before but obviously not. Thanks
