@mikeloc absolutely that will eventually happen. But today itās not the time, people are still not feel very confident about building on Bubble and then you add one more excuse to not build on Bubble.
I would have thought it would be on account of Bubbleās allergy to comprehensive security or proper QA, but apparently itās just about catering to their customers Link
Unfortunately, this is still a limited and prejudiced view of low/no code development. His claim makes no sense. Do his clients who get SUPER angry with āthisā think we throw things into Bubble and the software magically work? And even if that was the case. Whatās the problem? There is a real application. Which has real value for someone. Solving a real world problem. Does it matter if it was done in 100 hours by a human or in minutes by some artificial intelligence?
āHave to give them what they wantā
His clients donāt even know if it was made using Bubble or by Elon Muskās wife. This type of rejection obviously does not come from users but from some prejudiced view from AppSumo itself. Thatās what I think.
This AppSumo guy sounds like he has no idea what heās talking about. He acts like customers know what platform their products are built on or give one flying F about it. I seriously question his credibility based on the statements Iāve seen here.
@2706mason Whatever it is but he runs the website that have around 3M website visitors every month and its big blow for indie-hacker, small business who see APP SUMO as the early distribution channel to validate their ideas, selling lifetime deal etc.
I donāt think it is a blocker per se, you just need to convince them of the viability of your product. I see two products on Appsumo currently which are built using Bubble and launched in the 2 last weeks, one of these is even in the Select Black Friday deals so I think it is still possible but they have a vetting system.
There have been a lot of scams and deals going bust after a short period on Appsumo, it is par for the course but I think a higher level of vetting is good for everyone.
@lizzie there is not 2 , there are more than 100s product that is built on Bubble listed on AppSumo. Even one product with 1320 reviews are listed on Appsumo.
Its flaw in their review process. Appsumo founder is asking for the names of such apps so that he can remove it.
Its more about the direction given to vetting team- if product is built on Bubble , it will removed.
I think you are wrong. I know of two (there may be many more) and I know the founder of those two. They had the conversation regarding Bubble and Bubbleās stance. They provided their side of the story and viability of the business etc and Appsumo gave them the green light so I donāt think this is a blanket ban, it is a āconvince usā and if your app has been rejected, then you failed at that hurdle.
So, basically, an advertising/marketing/distribution channel says they are not going to promote products that are built on Bubbleā¦has nothing to do with Bubble.
If it is a āBig Blowā to small businesses who thought distribution through AppSumo would make or break their great new SaaS built on Bubble, then they must not have a very good product or sense about how to really hustle as a small business owner.
AppSumo is one of the places I refer to find SAAS not to use these days. Been burned too many times. Itās like any other app store, full of bloat and services that promise the world but barely deliver.
Itās just one of many ways to market your app. I donāt think it warrants any concern for us Bubblers.
On the other hand, Bubble itself will not like the optics on this. I think itās a lowblow move by AppSumo.
By Noahās own logic, PDFs, WP Plugins, Ebooks, Templates, and Chrome Extensions should all get banned from AppSumo too. Or at the very, very least, WP Plugins and Chrome Extensions.
