Bubble app loads very slow

Our app mobilitycalculator.com is very slow since today… does somebody have any idea why this could be?

Thx for your advice/remarks

If your Bubble app suddenly slowed down and it wasn’t like that before, then it must probably be a bubble thing.

There are a lot of issues regarding bugs, performance, etc. in bubble these past few weeks.

But just to make sure, try to see if there are any plugins or breaking change that might have caused your app’s slow down.

It seems like UNPKG is down:

Thx, but yesterday everything was working fine…
How can i check if its a bubble thing?

Ok , thx, what can i do? This is something i’m not familiar with…

@bartje.vangastel We can’t do anything about it unfortunately. We have to wait till it is back up again. UNPKG is a popular CDN provider apps use to store code. That is the reason why apps are slow now and you could be seeing unexpected behavior for parts that rely on code from UNPKG

Allright… My team is right now giving a demo to a very large prospect… so i hope the problem will be fixed soon

can i follow up what is going on?
Because now i’m 100% dependent and i don’t really like that…

This is crazy, We’ve been building for 4 months and are about to start our first user training. Beyond unacceptable.

Not Bubble’s fault. It’s like being late to work and blaming the traffic on your car manufacturer.

Yeah your right, however this is a simple fix, because of locked out nature of plugins, users cant fix it, plugin authors arent that responsive except for a few. i cant imagine it would be hard for an option to allow users to override the cdn imports on plugins. that would be awesome.

You can fix it for free plugins. They’re open source. By buying a plug-in, that’s a risk you choose to take.

If plugins are stopping you from developing right now, hold the PREVIEW button and pick safe mode without plugins. That at least gets the app loaded, albeit without plugins.

yes but is there any reason to why bubble shouldn’t help mitigate issues like this

They’re not legally allowed to modify paid plugins, because it’s not their IP and the license does not permit them to do so. They could in theory find and replace all of the unpkg links with an alternative for free plugins, but it’s never that simple and is likely faster to just wait for unpkg to be fixed…

licensing, that is a fair point i didnt think of that. But i havent read terms of service.
So i cant comment with regards to that anymore.

Traffic was fine. Car turned on and was able to move, but super slow.

traffic was fine, the car turned on, and was able to move regularly, but there was no parking available at the job.

That’s pretty terrible planning. It’s standard to be able to remove any plugin that doesn’t comply with required updates.

They also can easily filter out non complying plugins but they don’t nor even tag them ad deprecated.
YESTERDAY (April 11, 2024 at 7pm) I needed a quick PostMark plugin for a second and grabbed one with 10k plus reviews from a “Gold” agency (which must mean their plugins are golden right?) . There was NO indication that the plugin wasn’t on V4. Today the app had a warning banner that one of its plugins may be deprecated on March 12, 2024!?! At least now (April 12, 2024 at 4pm) they yanked it from the marketplace.
